The Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (General Application) Regulations 2007 make it mandatory that all workers in Ireland who are involved in manual handling activities (including lifting, putting down, pushing, pulling, carrying, or moving of loads) must have valid Manual Handling Certification.
This course outlines:
- Exactly what constitutes manual handling and covers the regulations and legislation that apply to manual handling tasks.
- It then goes on to cover safe handling techniques and how to develop good habits in relation to manual handling.
- It finishes off by introducing some practical solutions and the use of mechanical aids.

After completing the theory course, you need to complete a practical assessment to achieve valid certification in Ireland. This is a demonstration of your correct understanding and application of lifting techniques. This practical is included in the price and can be completed by sending in a WhatsApp video or a live Chat via webcam. You will also need proof of identity.
